The Lake Desire Community is fortunate to live around quiet Lake Desire, just east of the Fairwood Shopping core on the north side of Petrovitsky Road.
This community features a variety of custom-built homes in a peaceful lake setting.
Fairwood, a friendly bedroom community is a short commute to a variety of Puget Sound locations, including a 30-45 minute commute to Downtown Seattle.

- Canoe Found - We have a green Coleman canoe that floated up to our dock a few days ago. Please contact, Lynn Glessner, lglessner@gmail.com.
- Neighborhood Watch - John and Kathy Shertz have reported several recurring incidents of damage to their mailbox at 18533 W Lk Desire Dr SE as well as other vandalism on their property. They have installed a video surveillance system in hopes of catching the vandals. If anyone sees anything suspicious, please call 911. Submitted by Kathy Shertz, katshertz@q.com
- Lake Desire Emergency Preparedness Meetings – A few neighbors met this week to discuss preparing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan, and to figure out how to better alert our neighbors if there is any type of disaster. We met with a King County Parks representative and a King County Forestry Rep to help us get started. If anyone is interested in helping on this committee, please contact Kathy Shertz, katshertz@q.com or Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, 8/20 at 7pm at Kathy Shertz’s house, 18533 W Lk Desire Dr SE, 425-228-8666. Please contact Kathy if you would like to attend.
- King County Parks Resources – We recently had the opportunity to meet with Duane Evans, duane-jay.evans@kingcounty.gov who is our representative for King County Parks. He gave us the following contact numbers.

Lake Desire Clubhouse Rental – Contact Vi Anderson at 425-226-7005 or woods_inn@msn.com for details. The clubhouse features a full kitchen, tables and chairs to seat up to 40 people (max 60), new carpet and restrooms. Members receive a discount on renting the community clubhouse. The normal rate is $75 to rent the clubhouse for the whole day or ($15 per hour- min. of 3 hours.) Members can rent the clubhouse at a discount for only $60 per day. Membership is $15 for the calendar year for individuals/families or $10 for senior citizens.
